Freaky yet Interesting

Damn yesterday was the most tiring day ever! I was out since 7:30pm went for a wedding dinner at Sime Darby came home arnd 9:30pm, Then me nd my sisters got ready to see how Thaipusam(an indian festival) was like in Batu Caves. We left at 11:00pm picked up one of my sisters friends nd drove straight to ''Batu Caves''. We reached there at 11:45am the next day.I was already soo sleepy then. And to find a parkin takes FOREVER!at last we got a parking quite far from the main entrance and those friggin idiots charge us RM10 for a lousy parking lot! it stinks nd it's DARRRK over there, but yeah we were desperate to get a parking and get in quick.

We squeezed in the main entrace to walk up the 200 stairs to pray. So basicly it's a cave after u walk up the stairs ur in a cave with many types of god's, that's what i herd. But we never got to go up! cuz it was too darn CROWDED, ppl pushing here and there. So we went cruising around exploring the place. I just knew there was a effin old railway station there! so we walked across that to see how they begin the poking ceremony! which is called ''khawedi'' i fink. I just research on this particular thing, here's wht i got >>''
The most potent propitiatory rite that a devotee of Lord Muruga undertakes to perform is what is known as the "Kavadi". The benefits that the devotee gains from offering a Kavadi to the Lord are a million fold greater than the little pain that he inflicts upon himself.
Generally, people take a vow to offer the Lord a Kavadi for the sake of tiding over a great calamity. Though this might on the face of it appear mercenary, a moment's reflection will reveal that it contains in it the seed for the supreme love for God. The worldly object is achieved, no doubt, and the devotee takes the Kavadi; but after the ceremony he gets so God-intoxicated that his inner spiritual chamber is opened. This is also a method that ultimately leads to the supreme state of devotion.'' from wht i herd the get possesed by GOD, sounds impossible to me.. nd weird.. so before they get intoxicated by god a group of ppl has to play the drums for them to get intoxicated. Well i saw all this by my own bloody EYES! it's frreaaaaky! the poke their tougues through with needless. I'll post some pics which i found from the net, cuz i didnt hv time to take pics! it was soo crowded! i was tired and sleepy. well ,dancing in a hypnotic trance to the rhythm of drums, devotees of Muruga carry the Kavadi all the way up the stairs to fulfill their vow.

After we saw the poking ceremony we went to rest our legs! it was soo tiring.. sooo sleeepy.. so we rest for abt an hour thn continue explosring the place, the ppl it was a gr8 experience since i myself have indian blood in me i should prolly watch these stuff, soo we did nd i dont regret except the smelly , dirty, and those annoying boys.
